Volunteer for the 25th Annual Day of Caring - Sept. 9

Help Kick Off the City's Charitable Giving Campaign during the 2016 Day of Caring. The Kick Off Celebration is set for Friday, Sept. 9 at the Expo Square Main Entrance under the Golden Driller. Breakfast will be served for participants at 7 a.m. along with the campaign kick-off program. Volunteers will leave at 8 a.m. for their assigned projects.

This year, City of Tulsa projects include Woodward Park Rose Garden Cleanup, Skelly Park painting and Zink Park Fence Repair. Please note that you do not have to use leave time, such as a vacation day or floating holiday, for City projects. Participation requires supervisor approval. You can order a t-shirt at the link below. Shirts are $16 for Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. 2X and 3X are $18 each.

If you would like to work at a United Way Agency during the Day of Caring, you can contact the Tulsa Area United Way and they will match you with a project that meets your interests.

You can register for the Kick Off Breakfast and order a t-shirt online.

Register to Work a United Way Agency

To sign up for a project at a United Way Agency, contact Shae Haning, Tulsa Area United Way, (918) 295-6644, or shaning@tauw.org to find a project that is right for you. United Way projects require the employee to take a vacation day.

  • Starting August 31st, the City Council regular meetings are moving from Thursdays to Wednesdays. The Public Works Committee is now at 8:30 a.m., Urban and Economic Development at 10 a.m., and the City Council Meeting is at 6 p.m.

Retired Employees of Tulsa Association (RETA)

The Retirees Association invites all retired City employees to join the Association for just $10 per year.

With membership, retirees enjoy regular meetings to share ongoing City business and keep up-to-date on business with MERP.

Meetings are held every other month, on the second Wednesday at the Tulsa Garden Center. New members receive a free lunch when they attend their first meeting!
