Dementia Friendly Tulsa seeks to train business that interact on a regular basis with individuals with dementia how to function in a way that helps those individuals continue to be thriving members of society. The trainings last 1 hour and are presented by a Dementia Friendly Tulsa committee member.
In October 2017, Parlour Salon became the first business in Oklahoma to be Dementia Friendly trained. Upon completion of the training, the business will receive an official proclamation from Mayor GT Bynum announcing that the business is a Dementia Friendly Tulsa business.
