Mayor's Veteran Advisory Council

The Mayor's Veteran Advisory Council was established in June 2009 with 16 members. Today there are over 95 members who sit on the Council. The purpose of this committee is to bring military members and veteran service organizations of the community together and to have a direct line to the Mayor on issues concerning veterans. The City of Tulsa Veterans Advisory Council is a recognized MyVA Community.

As the Council continues to grow, it has become even more vital to the community to share information, combine resources, and network to better serve the veterans in the city of Tulsa and the surrounding communities.

Special guests and dignitaries are invited to monthly meetings to educate the Council with information vital to the Veteran community, to the state, and to our military members. Topics, concerns and special guests differ from month to month.

Meetings: Meetings are held at 2 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month at the VFW Post 577, 1109 E. 6th St. (6th and Peoria), Tulsa, OK. Meetings run from 90 minutes to 2 hours long. The VFW Post 577 is now offering lunch to Council members for $7 starting at 1 p.m.
