On June 1, 2025, Mayor Nichols announced what's being called the "Road to Repair" to address the systemic impacts from 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The Road to Repair consists of multiple steps to get Tulsa closer to healing the multigenerational wounds more than 100 years in the making.
Multiple community members have worked diligently over the course of the last several years to bring about recommendations and best practices for how Tulsa could move forward, heal, and bring about reconciliation for Tulsa Race Massacre descendants, their survivors, and for the North Tulsa and Greenwood Community.
The Road to Repair is an initial step to respond, in large part, to that input. While this work is ongoing, the following organizations and plans have helped guide the work thus far.
