City Hall, Other Facilities to Close Monday for Tulsa Race Massacre Observance Day; Trash, Recycling Will Be Collected

In March of 2025, Mayor Nichols announced an annual day of observance on June 1, which recognizes the lives lost during the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre and serves as a day for residents, schools, businesses, and community organizations to participate in appropriate observances, activities, and discussions that reflect the significance of the day and forever honor the memory of those who lost their lives.
As part of this annual day of observance, City Hall, Municipal Court, and other City facilities will be closed Monday, June 1 for Tulsa Race Massacre Observance Day. Public safety and mission-critical operations will, however, operate as usual. Residents who need assistance with a water or sewer problem may call the following 24-hour emergency numbers: water (918) 596-9488 and sewer (918) 586-6999.
June 1 Service Impacts:
- Refuse and recycling will be collected according to the regular service schedule.
- Residential curbside yard waste and bulky waste will not be collected. Customers will need to schedule their next available day for bulky waste pick-up.
- Customer Care will be adjusting their hours of operation during the week of June 2-5 and will be available from 8:10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- MetroLink Tulsa will provide regular scheduled bus services.
