Free Narcan, Medication Disposal Bags, CPR Face Shields Available; Workshops, Services Available Throughout the Day
The City of Tulsa will host the inaugural Rising Together: Tulsa Recovery Summit on Saturday, May 16, from 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free community event aims to reduce stigma around addiction and provide residents with practical tools, education and support related to substance use prevention, treatment and long-term recovery.
The event will take place at Tulsa Tech - Lemley Memorial Campus, Client Service Center (1st Floor), 3638 S. Memorial Dr., Tulsa, OK, 74145.
The summit will include educational workshops, complimentary light breakfast and lunch (while supplies last), and a resource fair featuring more than 25 community partners. Attendees will have access to a wide range of services and resources, including:
Free supplies of Narcan, medication disposal bags, and CPR face shields will be available while supplies last. Residents can dispose of their sharps at the event as well. HIV, hepatitis C, and syphilis testing will be offered at the event.
Each 45-minute workshop session will cover the following topics to support prevention and recovery:
Opening remarks will be delivered by Dr. Jabraan Pasha, the City’s Chief Health Officer. Closing remarks will be provided by Justin Lemery, Director of Emergency Medical Services with the Tulsa Fire Department.
Community members, service providers, and advocates are encouraged to attend and learn about the pathways to healing and recovery available in the Tulsa community.
