The City of Tulsa Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges (The Center) to host the first ever Family Ability Day in Tulsa on Saturday, April 23, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Hicks Community Center, 3443 S. Mingo Road.

The purpose of this event is to bring awareness to the adaptive sports available in the Tulsa community for individuals with disabilities and their families. Family Ability Day is free and open to all ages and abilities. Some of the activities offered will include: wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, boccia ball, goal ball, track and field and art. The first 100 attendees will receive free lunch and healthy snacks.

The Center is a recognized US Paralympic Sports Club, a community-based program developed to involve youth and adults with physical and visual disabilities in sports and physical activity, regardless of skill level.
