Prescription Drug Take Back Event Scheduled for October 25

DRUG TAKE BACK 2025

A prescription drug take-back event is scheduled for Tulsa area residents to properly dispose of unwanted medications and prescription drugs on Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Events are scheduled to combat accidental poisoning, overdose, and abuse that can result from unused or expired prescription medications. Sharps disposal is available at select locations.

All events will occur at the following Tulsa area locations:

• Walgreens Bixby, 15111 S. Memorial Dr., Bixby, OK, 74008
• Walgreens (Sharps Site), 1438 N. Lewis Ave., Tulsa, OK, 74110
• Walmart Neighborhood Market, 3116 S. Garnett Rd., Tulsa, OK, 74146
• Tulsa Crime Stoppers/Walmart Neighborhood Market, 4720 E. 21st St., Tulsa, OK, 74114
• Elks Lodge Tulsa, 5335 S. Harvard Ave., Tulsa, OK, 74135
• Walmart Neighborhood Market, 1300 Albany St., Broken Arrow, OK, 74012
• Sand Springs Police Department, 602 W. Morrow Rd., Sand Springs, OK, 74063

It is best to properly dispose of medications and not flush them down toilets. Wastewater treatment plants are not designed to remove chemicals found in many medications, and these chemicals could discharge into streams if medications aren't disposed of properly.

Unwanted prescription drugs are also accepted at Tulsa Police Division headquarters and the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office any time of the year.

• Tulsa Police Gilcrease Division, 3436 N. Delaware Ave., 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday
• Tulsa Police Mingo Valley Division, 10122 E. 11th St., 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday
• Tulsa Police Riverside Division, 7515 Riverside Parkway, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday
• Tulsa County Sheriff, 218 W. 6th St., 6th floor, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday
