Street Project Updates; Traffic Signal Repairs in Progress at Multiple Tulsa Intersections

The City of Tulsa is currently working on multiple street projects, as well as traffic signal repairs at intersections that are temporarily operating as all-way stops.

The affected intersections include:

• East 43rd Street and South Yale Avenue (due to a power surge)
• East 91st Street and South Delaware Avenue (due to old hardware)
• East 7th Street and South Elgin Avenue (due to bad wiring)
• Gilcrease Museum Road and West Edison Road (due to ongoing road construction)

The traffic signals at Gilcrease Museum Road and West Edison Road will remain covered as part of ongoing construction to Gilcrease Museum Road, and the intersection is expected to operate as an all-way stop for approximately the next two months.

While repairs are underway, drivers should treat these intersections as four-way stops to ensure the safety and efficiency of traffic flow. Currently, a full restoration schedule is not available.

Drivers should be aware of potential delays and are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly.

Beyond these traffic signal repairs, drivers should also be aware of several other street improvement projects currently underway or beginning soon that may impact traffic flow. In addition to the upcoming street rehabilitation on East 91st Street from South Harvard Avenue to South Yale Avenue, the following projects are active or scheduled to begin soon:

• Gilcrease Museum Road, Admiral to Pine - The street reconstruction project on Gilcrease Museum Road from Admiral Boulevard to West Pine Street is 25% complete, with Gilcrease Museum Road currently closed from West Edison Street to West Pine Street. The City of Tulsa has contracted with Becco Contractors for this $25 million project funded through the Improve Our Tulsa 2 sales tax extension. Construction is scheduled for completion in late 2026.
• 91st, Memorial to Mingo – The street widening project on East 91st Street from South Memorial Drive to South Mingo Road is over halfway done, with two-way traffic currently being diverted to the northbound lanes. The City of Tulsa has contracted with Tri-Star LLC for this $12.8 million project funded through the Improve Our Tulsa 2 sales tax extension. Construction is scheduled for completion in early 2027.
• 15th, Lewis to Harvard - A street rehabilitation project will begin in early March on 15th Street from Lewis to Harvard. The City of Tulsa has contracted with Becco Contractors for this $3,421,000 Improve Our Tulsa project. Construction is scheduled for completion in spring of 2027, weather permitting. • Utica, Admiral to Pine - This street rehabilitation and waterline replacement project is almost halfway complete, with plans to reduce Utica Avenue to one lane going northbound beginning on Monday, Feb. 23. The City of Tulsa has contracted with Becco Contractors for this $15,137,000 Improve Our Tulsa project. Construction is scheduled for completion in summer of 2027, weather permitting.
• Utica, 11th to 15th - A street rehabilitation project will begin later this month on Utica Avenue, between 11th and 15th streets. The City has contracted with Becco Contractors for this $4,987,000 Improve our Tulsa project. Construction is scheduled for completion late 2026, weather permitting.
