The Tulsa Route 66 Commission was created by executive order in 2016 to support and continue efforts for promotion and development along historic Route 66 in Tulsa.
The citywide Commission is composed of 19 members. 13 members are appointed by the mayor and six members are represent council districts one, two, three, four, five and six. The council district representative is either the City Councilor or their designated representative. No more than four (4) individuals holding the office of City Councilor shall personally hold the commission seat at any time. Each of these districts includes a segment of Route 66.
The Commission supports and assists all ongoing efforts locally and statewide with both public and private entities involved in Route 66 matters. Members also create and help implement specific strategies and plans to encourage economic development and promotion for Route 66.
