With the sudden temperature changes in recent days from warm to cool and cold, the City of Tulsa has geared up preparations in case Tulsa receives some early winter weather. The Streets and Stormwater Department is watching weather forecasts and conditions to be ready for whenever the first winter storm comes, and for other storms that may occur this season.
Mayor G.T. Bynum proposed an employee retention and signing bonus at the Urban and Economic Development Council committee meeting.
Due to a fire at the Tulsa Recycle Transfer Facility (TRT), the City’s contracted recycling process facility, the City of Tulsa will send residential recycling to Covanta’s Trash to Energy Plant while repairs are being made at the TRT facility. Recycling customers should continue to place recycling in the blue cart and trash in the gray cart.
We have kicked-off our 9th Annual Stock the Station Food Drive that will help Tulsans in need this holiday season. The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma (CFBEO) will be the recipient of food and donations collected by the food drive and will be able to deliver goods to 111 Partner Programs located in Tulsa proper. Residents can drop-off non-perishable food items to any Tulsa Fire Station, Tulsa Police Station, Tulsa City-County Regional Library or Tulsa City Hall from Nov. 12 - Dec. 13.
In partnership with Tulsa Economic Development Corporation (TEDC), the City of Tulsa is dedicating $1.1 million in funds for zero interest loans to provide financial assistance to small business owners and entrepreneurs affected by COVID-19.
