As we enjoy celebrating the holidays, we have more to throw away – either in our gray trash cart or blue recycling cart. Recycling is easy for Tulsa residents, especially during the holiday season. Most packaging and wrapping paper – such as cardboard boxes and basic wrapping paper without foil or glitter – are recyclable in the City’s blue recycling carts.
On Tuesday June 1, the City of Tulsa will begin a full excavation and analysis of the Original 18 site at Oaklawn Cemetery, 1133 E. 11th St. led by the University of Oklahoma - Oklahoma Archaeological Survey (OAS) and the 1921 Graves Physical Investigation Committee.

Mayor G.T. Bynum announced on Black Friday the launch of 10 innovative programs designed to spark new energy into Tulsa’s commercial and retail corridors in 2020 and beyond through a comprehensive Commercial Revitalization Strategy. The programs will provide new and innovative tools for developers, entrepreneurs, and businesses launching or expanding within Tulsa city limits. The tools aim to offer a diverse set of resources for businesses of all sizes and in all stages.
Tulsa’s voluntary boil order advisory remains in effect and the City continues to urge residents to conserve water. City officials anticipate a return to normal operations by sometime next week.

Last year the Community Service Council launched the Oklahoma Veteran Connections program to help connect local veterans and their families with services. The program began with 12 agencies, but in the last year has grown to 35 agencies and between them has handled over 1,100 referrals for more than 700 veterans and their families.

The Army Corps of Engineers announced it will increase the release at Keystone Dam to 265,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) beginning at 7 p.m. this evening. The release rate will change to 275,000 cfs at 7 a.m. tomorrow, May 27 with the expectation to leave it at this level through Thursday.
