City Hall, Municipal Court, Other Facilities to Close Friday Afternoons for Furlough from May 8 to Dec. 18

With City of Tulsa general fund revenues for Fiscal Year 2020-2021 projected to be $13 million less than last year, non-sworn employees paid from the general fund will be on furlough for four hours each Friday afternoon through December 23. During the furlough, City Hall and some other City facilities will be closed starting at noon on Friday. Customer Care phone lines will also be closed.

On Sept. 27th, Mayor G.T. Bynum, Kelly VanBuskirk, Tulsa Health Department’s Division Chief of Prevention, Preparedness & Response, and Saint Francis Senior Vice President Dr. Mark Frost gave an update on COVID-19 in the Tulsa area. COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to slowly decline in the Tulsa area. Experts still advise everyone to follow CDC guidance and best mitigation practices to slow the spread. Vaccination, social distancing, masking, and proper hygiene continue to be the best ways to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 in the Tulsa area.

City Hall, Facilities Closed Monday, Jan. 21, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

City Hall and other City facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal. Residents who need assistance with a water or sewer problem may call the following 24-hour emergency numbers: water – (918) 596-9488, and sewer – (918) 586-6999. Residential refuse, recycling, yard waste and bulky waste all will be collected on Monday according to the regular schedule.

City Rescinds Weekend Curfew For Downtown Federal Exclusion Zone

On Thursday, the Secret Service asked the City of Tulsa and the Tulsa Police Department to put in place a curfew for the Federal Exclusion Zone near the BOK Center. Today, the Secret Service asked the City to lift the curfew order this weekend. In compliance with this request, the City has rescinded the order.

Tulsa Glassblowing School Opens at former McClure Park Recreation Center

Tulsa Glassblowing School (TGS) officially opened its doors to the public Wednesday following a seven-month renovation at the former McClure Park Recreation Center. Mayor G.T. Over the next three weeks, workers will be installing historical markers at 29 locations along Route 66 in Tulsa. The signs will feature tourist-oriented narratives and historical photos to guide you along a trip on the Mother Road.

1921 Graves Test Excavation Expected to Begin April 1

The Public Oversight Committee for the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Graves Investigation met March 2 to discuss the feasibility plan from the Oklahoma Archaeological Survey regarding the test excavation at Oaklawn Cemetery, which is expected to begin on April 1 and take approximately 10 days.
