Bynum presented his Improve Our Tulsa proposal to the Tulsa City Council, a $772 million package that will not raise taxes, but fund critical improvements to Tulsa’s streets, City facilities and equipment and create a $104.2 million Tulsa Housing Initiative that will help fill a critical need for housing in Tulsa.

City Announces New Organizational Structure with Enhanced Community Focus

On Thursday afternoon, Mayor G.T. Bynum announced a new organizational structure that will embed community focus in all facets of design, planning, neighborhood engagement and investment by establishing the Department of City Experience (DCE) and reestablishing the Public Works Department, effective July 1, 2023.

City of Tulsa Thanksgiving Operations and Closings

City Hall, Municipal Court and other City facilities will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, for the Thanksgiving holiday. There will be no refuse, recycling, bulky waste or yard waste collection on Thursday, Nov. 24. As a result, Thursday and Friday customers will experience a change in their collection schedule. Thursday customers will receive collection service on Friday and Friday customers will receive collection service on Saturday.

With the potential for dangerous winter weather and extreme cold temperatures heading into the weekend and early next week, the City is preparing now to get its equipment ready for a snow event.
