Improve Our Tulsa Public Meetings Scheduled for July 25, 29 & 30

Three Improve Our Tulsa public meetings are scheduled to receive comments on the revised proposal for the renewal of Improve Our Tulsa, the City’s basic streets and infrastructure program. During the meetings, Mayor Bynum and Tulsa City Councilors will give an overview of the latest Improve Our Tulsa proposal including district specific projects. Following public comments, the City of Tulsa will host an “open house” event with department heads and elected officials to answer resident questions and have one-on-one conversations about the proposal and projects.

Utility Customers May Opt In or Out of EMSAcare during Month of August, 2020

Each year in the month of August, Tulsa utility customers have the option to change their enrollment status in the EMSAcare program. They may choose to opt in or opt out of the program. EMSAcare is a subscription program by EMSA (Emergency Medical Services Authority) that covers the costs of emergency medical ambulance transport for all permanent members of households that participate in the program. EMSAcare subscribers either with or without health insurance pay no additional out-of-pocket costs – such as co-payments or deductibles – for emergency ambulance services.

Bloomberg Philanthropies announced that Tulsa has been selected as a finalist in the running to receive up to $1 million as part of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Art Challenge, a program that aims to foster creative collaboration, address civic issues, and support local economies through public art. More than 200 cities applied, and Tulsa, along with 13 other cities, has been invited to submit a full proposal.

The proposed $944.9 million budget includes raising the minimum wage for all full-time positions to $16 an hour, new classes for both police and fire, and $2 million toward the implementation of the Kirkpatrick Heights Greenwood Master Plan.

Brownfields Public Meeting Scheduled for Nov. 21

A public meeting with the latest information about the City of Tulsa Brownfields program will be held Thursday, Nov. 21, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Rudisill Regional Library Ancestral Hall, 1520 N. Hartford Ave. This meeting will focus on cleanup of contaminated sites and buildings. The public will have the opportunity to review a new cleanup proposal for City-owned property at 103 N. City Selects Award-winning Architecture Firm for Greenwood Cultural Center Renovation

After a recommendation from the Greenwood Cultural Center Board, Mayor G.T. Bynum selected the Moody Nolan / JCJ Architecture team to lead the Greenwood Cultural Center’s renovation project.
