Capital project construction contracts bid from April through mid-October 2020 broke a record for the City of Tulsa: 64 contracts valued at a total of $239.9 million. These contracts were for many kinds of projects – improvements to the water, sewer and stormwater systems, street rehabilitation and widening, maintenance and improvements to parks and other public facilities, and construction of Vision Tulsa economic development projects.

The new Student Success and Career Center on the Tulsa Community College Southeast Campus revolutionizes the college onboarding and career process. Designed with the student in mind, the facility allows students to meet with answer center specialists, academic advisors, career specialists and local companies. The $5.3 million facility, part of the Vision Tulsa package approved by voters in 2016, is now part of the campus at 10300 E. 81st Street.
Mayor G.T. Bynum announced the City of Tulsa and USA BMX have reached an agreement to secure a 30-year commitment in Tulsa. Through funding provided by voters in Vision Tulsa, the City will construct a new National Headquarters, National Track Stadium containing both an Olympic-caliber and Amateur Track, and Hall of Fame Museum at the Evans Fintube site in Tulsa.
City Hall, Municipal Court and other City facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan. 18, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal. Tulsa’s voluntary boil order advisory remains in effect and the City continues to urge residents to conserve water. City officials anticipate a return to normal operations by sometime next week.

Construction of the Mingo Creek Trail between East 41st Street and East 51st Street is scheduled to begin on Monday, Feb. 18. The trail will extend from East 41st Street near South 102nd East Avenue to East 51st Street near South 103rd East Avenue.
