Mayor G.T. Bynum announced Cassia Carr will serve as Tulsa’s Deputy Mayor beginning Aug. 30, 2021. The Deputy Mayor serves as the acting mayor in the mayor’s absence and coordinates policy matters on behalf of the City of Tulsa.
The City of Tulsa offers greenwaste drop-off and mulch pick up to Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Jenks, and Bixby residents free of charge. Commercial customers can also drop-off following a cubic yard fee structure.
City Hall, Municipal Court and other City facilities will be closed on Friday, April 7, for Good Friday. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal.
The City of Tulsa’s Mulch Site will be closed until further notice to address a fire in the mulch piles. During this time, residents can bundle limbs and branches and tie them into bundles no more than 2-feet across and 4-feet long, weighing less than 40 lbs., and put them alongside their refuse cart on their regular trash day and crews will pick them up. There is a limit of 15 bags and/or bundles that will be picked up at the curb on a resident’s primary collection day.

With the potential for dangerous winter weather and extreme cold temperatures heading into the weekend and early next week, the City is preparing now to get its equipment ready for a snow event. Following the Thanksgiving holiday, the City of Tulsa, in partnership with the M.e.t., will collect and dispose of leftover and used cooking oils such as peanut, canola and vegetable oil. This event will be held Saturday, Nov. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the M.e.t. Depot at 3495 S. Sheridan Road.
