With the potential for dangerous winter weather and extreme cold temperatures heading into the weekend and early next week, the City is preparing now to get its equipment ready for a snow event. Crews will continue to operate on a 24-hour winter weather response until the threat of winter weather subsides. The City of Tulsa offers greenwaste drop-off and mulch pick up to Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Jenks, and Bixby residents free of charge. Commercial customers can also drop-off following a cubic yard fee structure.

City of Tulsa Winter Weather Update Feb. 23, 2022 – 10:30 a.m.

The City of Tulsa is responding to a winter weather event moving through the area today and tomorrow. Crews started 24-hour response starting around midnight this morning. Crews are working 12-hour shifts throughout the event. Brine (salt/water mix) was used overnight to pre-treat the roads, with crews having turned to salt application this morning. Plows are at the ready and may be utilized this afternoon if further sleet buildup occurs.
