Due to a fire at the Tulsa Recycle Transfer Facility (TRT), the City’s contracted recycling process facility, the City of Tulsa will send residential recycling to Covanta’s Trash to Energy Plant while repairs are being made at the TRT facility. Tulsa is facing a significant housing shortage. Studies, such as the Tulsa Housing Study, indicate that Tulsa needs to develop nearly 13,000 new housing units over the next ten years. This demand is particularly acute for affordable housing, with a shortfall of 6,000 units.
