The Public Oversight Committee for the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Graves Investigation will meet on Monday, Dec. 16, 5:30 p.m. at Carver Middle School, 624 E. Oklahoma Pl., to receive results from the geophysical and scanning of Oaklawn Cemetery and Newblock Park for the potential of graves from the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
Tulsa has been selected to receive a $20,000 planning grant from the national Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund (CFE Fund) to implement proven financial empowerment programming. Goodwill Industries of Tulsa will partner with the City of Tulsa to offer this free, professional, one-on-one financial counseling as a public service through the creation of a Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) which will be scheduled to open in late 2020.

In order to better assess the circumstances and needs of people experiencing homelessness, several organizations will launch a short-term program this week to contact, educate and connect individuals to services. It has the potential to improve lives and provide higher stability, security and necessities for homeless individuals.
Wednesday evening, the Tulsa City Council voted to approve ballot language for Improve Our Tulsa, an $814 million funding package that will not raise taxes, but fund critical improvements to identified City facilities and sites while also providing capital funding for public safety equipment, street maintenance and housing and neighborhoods.

Over the last seven weeks, forensic scientists and genealogists from Intermountain Forensics, the laboratory assisting the City with DNA analysis for the 1921 Graves Investigation, have received nearly 50 more contacts from people who think they may have a connection to the 1921 Graves Investigation and the surnames and locations of interest that were announced April 12.
Primary responsibility is to process donations for EIS’ free clothing and baby boutique.
