Mayor G.T. Bynum announced on Black Friday the launch of 10 innovative programs designed to spark new energy into Tulsa’s commercial and retail corridors in 2020 and beyond through a comprehensive Commercial Revitalization Strategy. The programs will provide new and innovative tools for developers, entrepreneurs, and businesses launching or expanding within Tulsa city limits. The tools aim to offer a diverse set of resources for businesses of all sizes and in all stages.

To allow for faster plan reviews and inspections for development projects, the City of Tulsa has begun a Third Party Plans Review and Inspection Program. Developers may choose a third party provider that has been approved by the City of Tulsa to review plans and conduct inspections. This approved provider is authorized to recommend issuance of building permits and certificates of occupancy.
Today, the City of Tulsa, Tulsa Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) and Tulsa Development Authority (TDA) announced plans to provide $4 million to support the Greenwood Entrepreneurship Incubator @ Moton (GEIM), a new entrepreneurship hub in North Tulsa. The Tulsa City Council is expected to vote on the budget amendment authorizing the expenditure at its regular meeting at 5 p.m. on June 2, 2021.

Tuesday, June 21, the Public Oversight Committee for the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Graves Investigation met virtually with technical experts to discuss the DNA analysis work and discuss next steps in the investigation.
