April 24, COVID-19 Situation Update

To date, the Tulsa Health Department (THD) has confirmed 467 positive COVID-19 cases in Tulsa County. 341 residents have recovered and 27 have died. A Safer at Home Order remains in place for every Tulsan, prohibiting public events, private events and social gatherings through April 30 at 11:59 p.m.

City Facilities to Close Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28-29, for Thanksgiving

City offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Thursday and Friday refuse customers will see a shift in their service. Michael Baker, former Chief of Emergency Medical Services for the Tulsa Fire Department, was chosen Monday to serve as Tulsa’s 12th Fire Chief. He will take his post effective Tuesday, June 16.

The City of Tulsa is continuing to treat Tulsa’s roadways as freezing drizzle falls across the city. Crews are treating all arterial routes with salt. Because the National Weather Service has updated their forecast, which shows freezing drizzle continuing until at least 11 p.m. tonight, the City is moving to a 24-hour response.

The City of Tulsa has issued a voluntary boil order for Tulsa water customers who have experienced low water pressure, are seeing discolored water, and those who have recently had water service restored after their water was shutoff for waterline repairs.

Mayor Bynum Adds Key Positions to Administration in Preparation for Second Term

Mayor G.T. Bynum announced that Kathryn Junk and Anna America will join the Mayor’s Office in key roles to help serve the residents of Tulsa. Kathryn Junk will serve as the Chief of Staff to Mayor Bynum beginning Nov. 16 and Anna America will serve as the Chief of Culture and Recreation effective immediately.
