Tulsa Financial Empowerment Center Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

Since its launch on December 10, 2020, FEC financial counselors have helped more than 170 clients and held nearly 500 sessions. Because of the program, clients have built $57,397 in savings and reduced their debt by $31,866. The program offers one-on-one financial counseling at no cost.

Bynum, Kelly VanBuskirk, Tulsa Health Department’s Division Chief of Prevention, Preparedness & Response, and Saint Francis Senior Vice President Dr. Mark Frost gave an update on COVID-19 in the Tulsa area. COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to slowly decline in the Tulsa area. Experts still advise everyone to follow CDC guidance and best mitigation practices to slow the spread. Vaccination, social distancing, masking, and proper hygiene continue to be the best ways to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 in the Tulsa area.

April 24, COVID-19 Situation Update

To date, the Tulsa Health Department (THD) has confirmed 467 positive COVID-19 cases in Tulsa County. 341 residents have recovered and 27 have died. A Safer at Home Order remains in place for every Tulsan, prohibiting public events, private events and social gatherings through April 30 at 11:59 p.m.

Tulsa Glassblowing School Opens at former McClure Park Recreation Center

Tulsa Glassblowing School (TGS) officially opened its doors to the public Wednesday following a seven-month renovation at the former McClure Park Recreation Center. Mayor G.T. Bynum and representatives from the Tulsa City Council and Tulsa Glassblowing School (TGS) were on hand for the Grand Opening event.
