The Public Oversight Committee for the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Graves Investigation will continue their discussion virtually Thurs., Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m. Researchers from the physical investigation team will provide details in the next phase of the exhumation process at Oaklawn Cemetery.

City of Tulsa Ready for Third Annual 918 Day; Multiple Activities Scheduled for Friday, Sept. 18

918 Day (Sept. 18) is almost here and the City of Tulsa has a variety of options for Tulsans to get involved as we celebrate our city’s diversity and growth. The City launched 918 Day in 2018 as part of the Resilient Tulsa Strategy, which calls for increasing social cohesion by facilitating connections and community-building in all corners of the city. This year’s theme is, “Rising Through Resilience.” To celebrate 918 Day, the Mayor’s Office of Resilience and Equity (MORE) will host a variety of activities, many of which are virtual this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Coronavirus, Tulsa COVID-19 Update – Sept. 3

On March 6, the first Tulsa County resident was confirmed positive for COVID-19. On July 23, 1 percent of Tulsa County residents had tested positive for COVID-19. By August 30, more than 2 percent of Tulsa County tested positive. As long as the virus continues to spread in the community, residents are at risk of contracting the virus. Older adults and people with underlying medical conditions are at increased risk for severe illness that may result in hospitalization, intensive care, a ventilator or even death. The best way to protect yourself, protect the most vulnerable, and help reduce the spread of COVID-19 is to follow the “three W’s”:
