The Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund (CFE Fund) announced Tulsa as one of 10 cities to receive a $20,000 planning grant and an intensive six to nine month technical assistance engagement partnership to identify and plan for local municipal financial empowerment strategic priorities. The CFE Fund’s CityStart initiative, with support from JPMorgan Chase and others, offers cities a structured approach to identify financial empowerment goals, convene stakeholders for sustainable success, develop concrete strategies, and ultimately craft an actionable blueprint rooted in local priorities and opportunities.

Tulsa Selected as a Finalist for a $1 Million Grant for Public Art Project

Bloomberg Philanthropies announced that Tulsa has been selected as a finalist in the running to receive up to $1 million as part of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Art Challenge, a program that aims to foster creative collaboration, address civic issues, and support local economies through public art. More than 200 cities applied, and Tulsa, along with 13 other cities, has been invited to submit a full proposal.

City’s Equipment Management Division Wins No. 1 Fleet Award

The City of Tulsa’s Equipment Management Division in the Asset Management Department has won the 2021 No. 1 Fleet Award from The 100 Best Fleets in the Americas – including North and South America. Other contest sponsors were the National Association of Fleet Administrators and North Carolina State University Clean Transportation. Equipment Management (EMD) maintains the City of Tulsa’s vehicle fleet, including police and fire vehicles.

City Hall and other City facilities will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23, for the Thanksgiving holiday. There will be no residential refuse, recycling, bulky waste or yard waste collection on Thursday, Nov. 22. As a result, Thursday and Friday customers will experience a change in their collection schedule.
