The Office of the City Clerk is responsible for:

In addition to the responsibilities set forth by the City Charter, the City Clerk’s Office is the depository for surety bonds, insurance policies, deeds, contracts, franchises and all records which are the property of the City and for which no other provision is made by charter or ordinance. They maintain and coordinate the publishing of open meeting agendas and schedules. They receive all lawsuits, claims, petitions, and appeals. They coordinate the election services to city officials with the Legal Department, and maintain all City election campaign reports. They receive and maintain bids through a sealed bidding process and coordinate the public opening of the bids with the Purchasing and Engineering Services groups. They manage the application process for the Pre-Qualification of Contractors bidding on Public Improvement construction projects. They act as the liaison/secretary to the Contractor Pre-Qualification Committee and the Ethics Advisory Committee. Certified copies of official records, bound copies of the codified ordinances, City charters, and code books (i.e. penal code) can be purchased from the City Clerk.
