We are happy to announce that our community and specialty centers are reopened, as of June 1, 2020. However, centers have temporarily limited their hours and programs as well as implemented updated health and safety policies. Tulsa Parks Response to COVID-19 Pandemic

The City of Tulsa’s Park and Recreation Department re-mains committed to ensuring the safety of our staff and residents ,and continues to consult with the Tulsa Health Department and CDC guidelines. Please note the following temporary practices and protocols are in place at our center:

General Policies Required Up Entry to Facility

Indoor Facilities

Whiteside Park Community Center features a full indoor gym, concessions kitchen, art and craft rooms, fitness classrooms and studios, a gymnastics gym and more.

A cleaning schedule is in place to sanitize the facility throughout the day. Please be mindful of staff if they are needing access to an area in order to clean. In addition to spraying and wiping down surfaces, the building is sprayed daily with a sanitizing mist.

Junior pool, sports fields, water playground, lighted tennis courts, shelters, outdoor exercise equipment, playground, one-mile trail, and picnic tables.

Please note: Our municipal pool will remain closed for the 2020 summer season. Lighted tennis courts, sports fields, picnic tables, and play areas are now reopened. Please follow health and safety guidelines shown on bilingual (English/Spanish) signs.

Our Programming

Please note: A 25 percent additional fee will be assessed for non-residents (noted in cost as "NR") of the City of Tulsa, and all patrons ages 10 and over must obtain a FREE Tulsa Parks ID card to participate in activities at any Tulsa Parks Community Center. Please ask recreation staff for more details.

Adult Fitness & Sports Programs

  • Adult Pickleball League (Ages 30+)
    • Play begins Tuesday, September 8 for Beginners and Tuesday, October 20 for Advanced.
    • $20 per player (R) | $25 per player (NR)
    • Adults ages 30 and over can join our adult Pickleball League. Beginners and advanced will play at Whiteside. Round Robin league structure. For more information contact
  • Open Pickleball Play (All Ages)
    • Reservations by appointment only. Call for available slots within the following schedule:
      • Mondays and Wednesdays: 12:40-2:40 p.m.
      • Tuesdays & Thursdays: 9-11 a.m. | 12:40-2:40 p.m.
    • Please note: Reserving a time does not mean that you or your “group” has exclusive use of the court. Please make sure you are including the people waiting in the rotation.
  • Health & safety guidelines for pickleball league and open play
    • Mask may be removed for physical activity but must worn when waiting on a court.
    • Wash and sanitize hands frequently.
    • \Bring own supplies (We will supply balls).
    • Wipe down equipment before and after each use.
    • Maintain 6 ft physical distancing at all times.
    • 12 players allowed in gym at one time.
    • Reserve your court and time ahead of time, no walk-ins if the gym is full.
  • Adult Volleyball League (Ages 18+)
    • League Play: Mondays, 6 p.m., October 5 - November 23
    • Registration Deadline: September 28
    • Costs: $80 per team | $16 refundable CASH deposit | $8 per game for official fee
    • Join our coed league for residents ages 16 and older. Don’t have a team? Call and get placed on our free agent list. We will try to form teams from names on that list. Please note: Spectators will not be allowed in the gym at this time.
  • Over-40 Basketball
    • Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
    • FREE
    • Until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, we are limiting this program to practice type drills for individuals. Limited number of slots per day.
  • Adult Tennis Lessons with Coach
    • Mondays & Wednesdays, 6-7:30 p.m. in 2 sessions:
      • Session 1: September 9 - October 5
      • Session 2: October 1 - November 4
    • Cost: $75 (R) | $90 (NR)
    • Adult lessons are available with Coach Keith, and are provided for both Level 1 and Level 2 players. Level 1 is designed for the beginner player, while Level 2 coaching is designed for adult that already play and need more advanced learning/playing session
  • Tennis Drills for Adults
    • Fridays, 9 a.m.

    • You know what they say, "drill make perfect!" Drills for intermediate and advanced players, instructed by John Lieber.
  • Morning Zumba with Sarah
    • Mondays and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. Classes will begin September 30.

    • Start your day off right by joining us for a one-hour class of active dancing that’s sure to be as fun as it is calorie-burning!

  • Bikes, Balls & You (Ages 1-5)
    • Tuesdays & Thursdays |9-11 a.m. | Starts September 8 | Cancelled on school holidays
    • FREE
    • This open play time for preschoolers is a great way to socialize with other kids. Families must bring their own riding toy 
    • Health & Safety Guidelines:
      • Due to health protocols and program changes, this activity will be outside on the tennis courts so please dress appropriately.
      • Adults are required to wear masks at all times. It is also recommended, but not required of children between the ages of 2 and 5 years.
  • Lil' Bit Sports Classes (Ages 3-4)
    • Soccer Class: September 15-29 | Basketball Class: October 13-27
    • Tuesdays 5-5:45 p.m.
    • Our youngest athletes, along with a parent-helper, can participate in our three-week sport classes. A new sport is practiced each month!
  • Tiny Dancers Ballet (Ages 3-11)

      • Enrollment can only be done in-person at Whiteside Community Center or online. Please note: online enrollment will only accept full payments and must be done prior to class starting. It will not pro-rate if your child is joining late to a class.
    • Health & Safety Guideliens:
      • For children’s safety, students must have instructor permission to enroll in Intermediate classes.
      • Parents are not allowed in gym during classes. There will be a parent watch week the last class of each session.
      • Based on the current COVID-19 health and safety assessment for the scheduled day, Parent Watch Day may be canceled or modified.
  • Co-Ed Youth Gymnastics Team (Ages 5-16)
    • Practice days are Mondays and Wednesdays
    • Cost: $80 per month Additional fees for uniforms, meet fees and league fee
    • Girls and boys from all over Green Country come to participate in this great program and compete in the Tulsa Parks Recreational League. Please note: parents must contact Whiteside to set up a try-out period for their child before they can join the team.

Adult Art, Education & Leisure Programs

  • Portrait Painters (Ages 18+)
    • Tuesdays, 11 a.m. Please note: check with Whiteside prior to coming, as the group has been doing virtual and outdoor sessions due to COVID-19. 
    • Participants bring their own supplies & split the cost for the model
    • For experienced artists who want to paint portraits with a live model.

    • Spooky fun for the whole family, including: a spooky walk-through maze, unlimited carnival game, costume contest, trunk or treat, and mask making

Reservations & Rentals


Don’t want to throw a birthday party at home? Book your child’s party at Whiteside! All parties include one hour of an activity and one hour in a party room for cake, presents, etc.

Prices include up to 10 kids (except Bikes and Balls). Additional children are $5 per child. Parents are responsible for providing refreshments and table/room decorations. All parties are by appointment only on Saturdays at 10 a.m.-noon.
