Water and Sewer crews are on 24/7 operations as they respond to the record number of waterline breaks occurring in Tulsa as a result of the extremely cold temperatures. The City of Tulsa continues its winter weather response after treating slick spots on roadways throughout the night. Morning shift drivers from the field have been called back in to work this morning. Crews will be spending the day cleaning and checking the trucks in preparation for our next response, which is expected to start tonight, as the current forecast shows snow and freezing rain starting at midnight tonight. Morning shift crews are expected to report back at midnight to respond to the forecasted weather tomorrow, which we expect to last through 5 p.m. Wednesday. Crews will make adjustments to this plan as warranted if any changes occur in the current forecast.
City Hall public areas and Tulsa Municipal Court will remain closed on Good Friday, April 10, during the citywide Safer at Home Executive Order from Mayor G.T. Bynum. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal. Residents who need assistance with a water or sewer problem may call the following 24-hour emergency numbers: water – (918) 596-9488, and sewer – (918) 586-6999.

With the sudden temperature changes expected in the coming days, the City of Tulsa is preparing in case Tulsa receives some early winter weather. The Streets and Stormwater Department is watching weather forecasts and conditions to be ready for whenever the first winter weather comes, and for other winter weather events that may occur this season.
