Wednesday evening, the Tulsa City Council voted to approve ballot language for Improve Our Tulsa, an $814 million funding package that will not raise taxes, but fund critical improvements to identified City facilities and sites while also providing capital funding for public safety equipment, street maintenance and housing and neighborhoods.
City Hall, Municipal Court and other City facilities will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25, and Friday, Nov. 26, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal. After months of rehabilitation and recovery, Tulsa Police Officer Aurash Zarkeshan will be back home Thursday in the city he swore to protect. In honor of Officer Zarkeshan’s perseverance and bravery, Mayor G.T. Bynum has proclaimed Thurs., Oct. 15, 2020, “Officer Aurash Zarkeshan Day” in the city of Tulsa.
A sanitary sewer rehabilitation project on South Utica Avenue between East 24th Place and South Troost Avenue is scheduled to begin Monday, March 11. Traffic on Utica Avenue will be limited to one lane in each direction at this location. This project is estimated for completion in two weeks, weather permitting.

Mayor G.T. Bynum announced Krystal Reyes will serve as the Chief Resilience Officer (CRO) for the City of Tulsa effective, May 6. Reyes will lead the Mayor’s Office of Resilience and Equity (MORE), which is responsible for implementing the Resilient Tulsa Strategy.
