Mayor G.T. Bynum announced the City of Tulsa and USA BMX have reached an agreement to secure a 30-year commitment in Tulsa. Through funding provided by voters in Vision Tulsa, the City will construct a new National Headquarters, National Track Stadium containing both an Olympic-caliber and Amateur Track, and Hall of Fame Museum at the Evans Fintube site in Tulsa.
To date, the Tulsa Health Department (THD) has confirmed 422 positive COVID-19 cases in Tulsa County. 276 residents have recovered and 22 have died. Due to a fire at the Tulsa Recycle Transfer Facility (TRT), the City’s contracted recycling process facility, the City of Tulsa will send residential recycling to Covanta’s Trash to Energy Plant while repairs are being made at the TRT facility. Recycling customers should continue to place recycling in the blue cart and trash in the gray cart.
The Public Oversight Committee for the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Graves Investigation met virtually on Sept. 14 at 5:30 p.m. to receive an update from the physical investigation committee regarding the initial test excavation and additional geophysical research conducted at the Clyde Eddy site within the Oaklawn Cemetery.
Following a recent increase in pay for many City positions, the City of Tulsa will host a Career Expo from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, at the Cox Business Center, 100 Civic Center, Tulsa, OK. Attendees will be able to connect one-on-one with City departments to inquire and apply for all open positions. On-site interviews to fast-track the hiring process will be made available for select positions and entry-level labor positions. Attendees should bring copies of their resume.

The result of extensive consultation with stakeholders from across the city, and developed with financial and technical backing from 100 Resilient Cities – Pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation (100RC), the Resilience Strategy puts forth a framework for creating an equitable city and center of opportunity for Tulsans new and old.
The Center for Digital Government (CDG) announced the City of Tulsa’s IT department ranked in the Top 10 of the 2020 Digital Cities Survey. Now in its 20th year, the annual survey recognizes cities using technology to tackle social challenges, enhance services, strengthen cybersecurity, and more.
