A sanitary sewer rehabilitation project on South Utica Avenue between East 24th Place and South Troost Avenue is scheduled to begin Monday, March 11. Traffic on Utica Avenue will be limited to one lane in each direction at this location. This project is estimated for completion in two weeks, weather permitting.
Beginning in October, certain fixed rate structures on City of Tulsa utility bills are changing. Rate changes will result in the typical City of Tulsa residential utility bill increasing by about $7/month. Restore Hope Ministries has been selected by the City of Tulsa and Tulsa County as the lead agency to administer $19.6 million in critical federal funding to provide much needed rent and utility relief to Tulsa City and County residents. The Emergency Rental and Utility Assistance Program (ERAP), under guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, will help landlords and tenants by paying past due rent, utilities (water, gas, and electric) and, in some cases, forward rent for up to three months to ensure housing stability.
Environmental Protection Agency Region 6 officials came to town today to announce that Tulsa has been awarded a $500,000 Brownfield cleanup grant to remove asbestos from a vacant portion of City-owned Air Force Plant 3. The facility currently houses Navistar, Spirit Aerosystems and Nordam. This cleanup will allow for expansion at this facility and creation of new jobs.
