Mayor G.T. Bynum welcomed Federal Emergency Management Agency officials to Tulsa for a ceremony celebrating Tulsa’s promotion to Class 1 in the National Flood Insurance Program.
As the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial approaches, the City of Tulsa stands in remembrance for the lives that were lost and the families of those affected by the racial violence that unfolded in Tulsa 100 years ago. A century after these horrific events, the City of Tulsa, under Mayor G.T. Bynum’s leadership, is addressing the legacy of the Massacre and making unprecedented investments in community-led redevelopment, including the reexamination of the 1921 Graves Investigation.
Beginning in October, certain fixed rate structures on City of Tulsa utility bills are changing. Rate changes will result in the typical City of Tulsa residential utility bill increasing by about $7/month. Rate changes are due to inflation, supply chain challenges, and increases in contract prices between the City and its vendors.

A prescription drug take-back event is scheduled for citizens to properly dispose of unwanted medications and prescription drugs on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at six locations in Tulsa.
Residents can take an online survey and attend open house events to help shape the future of their community.
City Hall and other City facilities will be closed Friday, July 3, to observe the Independence Day holiday – since July 4 will be a Saturday. Also, Thursday, July 2, will be the City of Tulsa’s furlough afternoon, with the same closures in effect as on furlough Fridays.
