Mayor G.T. Bynum released this statement following the passing of TPD Sgt. Craig Johnson while in the line of duty. “In this moment of terrible loss for our city, I can’t help but think of John 15:13: “No one has greater love than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Sergeant Craig Johnson lost his life protecting the lives of every Tulsan.

Mulch Site Closed Until Further Notice

The City of Tulsa’s Mulch Site will be closed until further notice to address a fire in the mulch piles. During this time, residents can bundle limbs and branches and tie them into bundles no more than 2-feet across and 4-feet long, weighing less than 40 lbs., and put them alongside their refuse cart on their regular trash day and crews will pick them up. There is a limit of 15 bags and/or bundles that will be picked up at the curb on a resident’s primary collection day.

Eric Lee Named Next Water and Sewer Department Director

Eric Lee will serve as the next director of the City’s Water and Sewer Department effective immediately. Lee, who has been serving as the Operations Administrative Manager for the Water and Sewer Department, will initially serve concurrently with current director Clayton Edwards until his retirement in February.

Save the Date: Prescription Drug Take-Back Event Scheduled for October 29, 2022

Unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to accidental poisoning, overdose and abuse. A prescription drug take-back event is scheduled for residents to properly dispose of unwanted medications and prescription drugs on Saturday, October 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at several Tulsa area locations.
