On March 6, the first Tulsa County resident was confirmed positive for COVID-19. On July 23, 1 percent of Tulsa County residents had tested positive for COVID-19. By August 30, more than 2 percent of Tulsa County tested positive. As long as the virus continues to spread in the community, residents are at risk of contracting the virus. Older adults and people with underlying medical conditions are at increased risk for severe illness that may result in hospitalization, intensive care, a ventilator or even death. The City continues to operate under CDC, Tulsa Health Department (THD) and Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) guidelines. To date, there have been five confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Tulsa County. Today, THD officials announced the first COVID-19 associated death in Tulsa County, which is also the first death in the state of Oklahoma. The investigation remains ongoing; however, this is the first confirmed instance of community spread in Tulsa County.
The City of Tulsa will offer its third Emergency Repair Grants workshop Thursday, Sept. 28, for residents who live within Tulsa city limits and need help applying for grants of up to $7,500 meant to help with emergency repairs.

Drivers with outstanding municipal parking tickets can participate in our Parking Ticket Amnesty Monday, October 28 through Friday, November 8. The ticket owner can pay pre-set parking citations at City Hall or Municipal Court without late fees. Mayor G.T. Bynum presented the proposed Fiscal Year 2021 - 2022 budget to the Tulsa City Council this evening with a total proposed budget of $ $799.4 million, which includes all city funds, operations and capital funding from Improve Our Tulsa and Vision Tulsa. The general fund, which funds most core services and operations, is projected to have $262.9 million in revenue.

The City of Tulsa will kick-off its 11th Annual Stock the Station Food Drive on Monday, Nov. 8 that will help Tulsans in need this holiday season. However, this year’s food drive will be virtual, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of dropping off non-perishable food items at City facilities, residents can make a monetary donation to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
