After months of rehabilitation and recovery, Tulsa Police Officer Aurash Zarkeshan will be back home Thursday in the city he swore to protect. In honor of Officer Zarkeshan’s perseverance and bravery, Mayor G.T. Bynum has proclaimed Thurs., Oct. 15, 2020, “Officer Aurash Zarkeshan Day” in the city of Tulsa.

USA BMX to Open Headquarters and Facilities in Historic Greenwood District in 2019; Signs Agreement to Stay in Tulsa for Next 30 Years

Mayor G.T. Bynum announced the City of Tulsa and USA BMX have reached an agreement to secure a 30-year commitment in Tulsa. Through funding provided by voters in Vision Tulsa, the City will construct a new National Headquarters, National Track Stadium containing both an Olympic-caliber and Amateur Track, and Hall of Fame Museum at the Evans Fintube site in Tulsa.

Nominations for the 2023 Pinnacle Awards, hosted by YWCA Tulsa and the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women, are open now through Sept. 23, 2022. Those selected for the awards will be celebrated at the Pinnacle Awards event in spring 2023.
