City of Tulsa Utility Rate Update – October 3, 2022

Beginning in October, certain fixed rate structures on City of Tulsa utility bills are changing. Rate changes will result in the typical City of Tulsa residential utility bill increasing by about $7/month. Rate changes are due to inflation, supply chain challenges, and increases in contract prices between the City and its vendors.

Mayor Presents Proposed FY20 City of Tulsa Budget

Mayor G.T. Bynum presented the proposed Fiscal Year 2019 - 2020 budget to the Tulsa City Council focusing on public safety, community development, improving compensation for employees and tripling the Rainy Day Fund, the City’s economic stabilization reserve. The total proposed budget is $845.8 million, which includes all city funds, operations and capital funding from Improve Our Tulsa and Vision Tulsa. The general fund, which funds most core services and operations, is projected to have $289.8 million in revenue.

COVID-19 Situation Update, September 17, 2021

Today, Mayor G.T. Bynum, Tulsa Health Department (THD) Executive Director Dr. Dart, Tulsa County Commissioner Stan Sallee and Dr. Dr. Damon Baker, Chief Medical Officer for OSU Medical Center gave an update on COVID-19 in the Tulsa area. During the news conference, Mayor Bynum shared that hospitalization levels continue to see a downward trend. In the Tulsa area, a month ago, on August 16, the Tulsa area reached the peak of this current surge with 27.9 percent of all hospital patients diagnosed with COVID-19. As of today, that level is down to 16.6 percent. Mayor Bynum said this percentage is still too high, but thanked individuals for doing their part to help protect our community.
