In its third day of winter weather response, the City of Tulsa is continuing to treat roads as areas of freezing drizzle move through the metro. Over the night, City crews worked to apply salt to Tulsa’s roadways after brine crews treated elevated surfaces up until midnight last night.
Mayor G.T. Bynum, joined by Joe Kralicek, Executive Director of the Tulsa Area Emergency Management Agency, Steve Piltz, Meteorologist in Charge at the National Weather Service in Tulsa, and Stan Whiteford from Public Service Company of Oklahoma, held a news conference to speak about winter weather preparedness.
The Army Corps of Engineers continue to release 275,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) from Keystone Dam. In the absence of additional rainfall, the Corps says it will continue this level of outflow through Thursday, but officials will keep a close watch on the potential rainfall overnight in the event the release rate increases.

Three Improve Our Tulsa public meetings are scheduled to receive comments on the revised proposal for the renewal of Improve Our Tulsa, the City’s basic streets and infrastructure program. During the meetings, Mayor Bynum and Tulsa City Councilors will give an overview of the latest Improve Our Tulsa proposal including district specific projects. Following public comments, the City of Tulsa will host an “open house” event with department heads and elected officials to answer resident questions and have one-on-one conversations about the proposal and projects.
These volunteers deliver Alzheimer’s Association Core Curriculum using prepared training materials on topics related to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias as well as information for individuals and families impacted by the disease.
