City Rescinds Weekend Curfew For Downtown Federal Exclusion Zone

On Thursday, the Secret Service asked the City of Tulsa and the Tulsa Police Department to put in place a curfew for the Federal Exclusion Zone near the BOK Center. Today, the Secret Service asked the City to lift the curfew order this weekend. In compliance with this request, the City has rescinded the order.

Grants Administration Seeking Volunteer Grant Evaluators

Volunteers are needed to assist in the review of HUD grant applications. Applicants will need to participate in one hour of training and then will evaluate approximately three different proposals, requiring 1-2 hours each for evaluation.

Following a recent increase in pay for many City positions, the City of Tulsa will host a Career Expo from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, at the Cox Business Center, 100 Civic Center, Tulsa, OK. Attendees will be able to connect one-on-one with City departments to inquire and apply for all open positions. On-site interviews to fast-track the hiring process will be made available for select positions and entry-level labor positions. Attendees should bring copies of their resume.

918 Day (Sept. 18) is almost here and the City of Tulsa has a variety of options for Tulsans to get involved as we celebrate our city’s diversity and growth. The City launched 918 Day in 2018 as part of the Resilient Tulsa Strategy, which calls for increasing social cohesion by facilitating connections and community-building in all corners of the city. This year’s theme is, “Rising Through Resilience.” To celebrate 918 Day, the Mayor’s Office of Resilience and Equity (MORE) will host a variety of activities, many of which are virtual this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sanitary Sewer Work to Begin Monday, March 11 on S. Utica Ave., E. 24th Pl. to S. Troost Ave.

A sanitary sewer rehabilitation project on South Utica Avenue between East 24th Place and South Troost Avenue is scheduled to begin Monday, March 11. Traffic on Utica Avenue will be limited to one lane in each direction at this location. This project is estimated for completion in two weeks, weather permitting.
