Tulsa Curbside Recycling Update – March 14

Since the return of curbside recycling January 31, the City of Tulsa has noticed a higher-than-average number of contaminated recycling carts. Most contamination has been seen in the form of plastic bags, Styrofoam, and other non-recyclable materials. Contaminated carts are not picked up and are identified with a yellow or white tag.

The City of Tulsa is preparing for winter weather and extremely cold temperatures expected on Thursday. Street crews are applying brine (water/salt mixture) today on bridges, hills and other elevated surfaces. Morning shift crews will report to work at 3 a.m. tomorrow to be available to treat the roads as needed with salt.

City Hall, Municipal Court and other City facilities will be closed Monday, June 19, for Juneteenth. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal.
