Environmental Protection Agency Region 6 officials came to town today to announce that Tulsa has been awarded a $500,000 Brownfield cleanup grant to remove asbestos from a vacant portion of City-owned Air Force Plant 3. The facility currently houses Navistar, Spirit Aerosystems and Nordam. This cleanup will allow for expansion at this facility and creation of new jobs.
City Hall public areas and Tulsa Municipal Court will remain closed on Good Friday, April 10, during the citywide Safer at Home Executive Order from Mayor G.T. Bynum. The Veteran Employer Champions program was created after a statewide survey was launched at a Governor’s Veteran Symposium in October 2017 with the goal of building an employer network to create programming and peer-to-peer learning for organizations interested in recruiting, hiring and developing veterans in the workplace.

Tuesday, the City of Tulsa was made aware the persons responsible for the May 2021 City of Tulsa ransomware attack shared more than 18,000 City files via the dark web mostly in the form of police citations and internal department files. Police citations contain some Personal Identifiable Information (PII) such as name, date of birth, address and driver’s license number. Police citations do not include social security numbers.
