The City of Tulsa has maintained its Class 2 rating in the National Flood Insurance Program’s Community Rating System, a voluntary program in which communities that go beyond the minimum floodplain management requirements earn flood insurance discounts for residents. The Federal Emergency Management Agency in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security administers the program.
Construction is beginning this month on the Vision Tulsa project – Route 66 Village Train Depot. The Route 66 Village is a railroad and oil derrick themed attraction on Route 66, located at 3770 Southwest Boulevard. Completion of the Train Depot is scheduled in about one year.

The State and Tulsa Health Departments have confirmed three residents in Tulsa County have tested positive with Coronavirus-COVID-19 from travel – one has already recovered. As with the flu, the COVID-19 virus is spread from person-to-person contact. With confirmed cases in Tulsa and the weekend announcement of community spread in Oklahoma, we need to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions by following basic health tips on hand washing and social distancing. Though most recover from this illness, COVID-19 is more severe in elderly populations and in those with underlying medical conditions.
The City has seen a record number of home starts in 2023, with 447 homes starting construction this year.
The City of Tulsa Mulch Site will reopen Wednesday, November 17, following a closure due to a fire in the mulch piles. The mulch site will be open for drop-off of tree branches, grass and leaves only. There will be no opportunities for firewood or firewood pick up at this time.
