Council Approves Mask Resolution Encouraging Mask-Wearing, Vaccination; Mayor and Council to Discuss City Employee Vaccine Stipend

Wednesday evening, the Tulsa City Council approved a resolution encouraging mask-wearing in Tulsa (in accordance with CDC guidance), and vaccination for Tulsans ages 12 and up. The resolution, which was passed with an emergency clause, will take effect immediately following Mayor G.T. Bynum’s signature.

City Hall Public Areas to Remain Closed on Good Friday

City Hall public areas and Tulsa Municipal Court will remain closed on Good Friday, April 10, during the citywide Safer at Home Executive Order from Mayor G.T. Bynum. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal. Coronavirus, COVID-19 Update – March 19

The City continues to operate under CDC, Tulsa Health Department (THD) and Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) guidelines. To date, there have been five confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Tulsa County. Today, THD officials announced the first COVID-19 associated death in Tulsa County, which is also the first death in the state of Oklahoma. The investigation remains ongoing; however, this is the first confirmed instance of community spread in Tulsa County.
