Mayor Monroe Nichols IV was sworn in as Tulsa's 41st Mayor on Monday, December 2, 2024. Mayor Nichols is focused on ending homelessness, improving student outcomes, expanding economic opportunity, making Tulsa the safest big city in America, increasing affordable housing and improving relations and co-governance with tribal governments.
Help With Food Resources
SNAP benefits are a critical part of ensuring Tulsa families and children have access to the food they need. More than 100,000 individuals in the Tulsa area rely on SNAP to make ends meet each month. If these benefits are disrupted, we know many Tulsans would be looking for support and clarity on what comes next.
In anticipation of that potential reality, the Mayor’s Office of Children, Youth, and Families convened a meeting with community partners and service providers today to share updates and align on how Tulsa can prepare and respond. We remain in close contact with local organizations and are ready to assist in any way we can, including developing long-term plans based on the duration of this disruption.
We encourage anyone who is facing food insecurity to contact 211 to be connected to local food resources.
