Mayor G.T. Bynum, Tulsa Parks officials, and community partners gathered September 29 to announce plans to build an inclusive playground at Whiteside Park, 4009 S. Pittsburg Ave. When completed, this new playground will be one of the most inclusive play spaces in the state of Oklahoma.

Mayor G.T. Bynum presented the proposed Fiscal Year 2019 - 2020 budget to the Tulsa City Council focusing on public safety, community development, improving compensation for employees and tripling the Rainy Day Fund, the City’s economic stabilization reserve. The total proposed budget is $845.8 million, which includes all city funds, operations and capital funding from Improve Our Tulsa and Vision Tulsa. The general fund, which funds most core services and operations, is projected to have $289.8 million in revenue.
City contract crews continue to remove overhanging or unstable branches, limbs, or trees in the right of way or public spaces following the June 18 storm. More than 45,000 hanging branches in the public rights-of-way, over sidewalks, and in Parks have been identified for removal. Currently, 14,191 have been removed.
