Town Hall Meetings Scheduled for Improve Our Tulsa Renewal

Five citywide town hall meetings have been scheduled for presentations, citizens’ questions and comments about the Improve Our Tulsa renewal, scheduled for a vote on Nov. 12. “Improve Our Tulsa is our basic streets and infrastructure program, and because of voter support for it in 2013 we’ve made critical progress in rehabilitating our roads after decades of neglect - but there is much more work to do,” Mayor G.T. Bynum said.

Bynum presented the proposed Fiscal Year 2021 - 2022 budget to the Tulsa City Council this evening with a total proposed budget of $ $799.4 million, which includes all city funds, operations and capital funding from Improve Our Tulsa and Vision Tulsa. The general fund, which funds most core services and operations, is projected to have $262.9 million in revenue.

City Hall, Facilities Closed Monday, Jan. 21, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

City Hall and other City facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal. Residents who need assistance with a water or sewer problem may call the following 24-hour emergency numbers: water – (918) 596-9488, and sewer – (918) 586-6999. Residential refuse, recycling, yard waste and bulky waste all will be collected on Monday according to the regular schedule.

Mayor Bynum Recognizes Veteran Employer Champions

Mayor G.T. Bynum, Community Service Council (CSC) and Oklahoma Veteran Alliance recognized 14 companies Monday for becoming Veteran Employer Champions. The Veteran Employer Champions program was created after a statewide survey was launched at a Governor’s Veteran Symposium in October 2017 with the goal of building an employer network to create programming and peer-to-peer learning for organizations interested in recruiting, hiring and developing veterans in the workplace.
