Starting Monday, January 31, curbside recycling will restart in Tulsa. Customers will need to have both their blue and gray carts at the curb by 5 a.m. on their service day. As a reminder, blue carts that contain items that are not recyclable in our recycling stream will not be picked up.
The City of Tulsa, in partnership with the Metropolitan Environmental Trust (The M.e.t.), will collect used cooking oils following the Thanksgiving holiday. This event will be held Saturday, Nov. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Central M.e.t. Recycling Center, 3495 S. Sheridan Road.

Mayor G.T. Bynum presented his Proposed Fiscal Year 2022-23 Budget to the Tulsa City Council on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. The proposed $944.9 million budget includes raising the minimum wage for all full-time positions to $16 an hour, new classes for both police and fire, and $2 million toward the implementation of the Kirkpatrick Heights Greenwood Master Plan.
The Keystone Dam release rate is gradually decreasing and at 11 am. this morning, the release rate from Keystone Dam is 190,000 cubic feet per second. The levee system continues to be the primary focus for emergency personnel as the levee system is oversaturated with water and has been holding historic levels of water for more than a week. The levee system continues to be monitored 24/7. Residents living behind the levees and evacuees from behind the levees need to remain vigilant.
City offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Thursday and Friday refuse customers will see a shift in their service. The City's Mulch Site, Park Rec Centers, Animal Welfare, Mohawk Park and Page Belcher Golf courses, and Tulsa Transit will all be affected by the holiday. Please "read more" for details on each.

Bynum announced on Black Friday the launch of 10 innovative programs designed to spark new energy into Tulsa’s commercial and retail corridors in 2020 and beyond through a comprehensive Commercial Revitalization Strategy. The programs will provide new and innovative tools for developers, entrepreneurs, and businesses launching or expanding within Tulsa city limits. The tools aim to offer a diverse set of resources for businesses of all sizes and in all stages.
